Awareness Program on Menstrual Hygiene Management for Adolescent Girls

As part of our commitment to adolescent health and empowerment, we conducted an awareness program on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) for young girls in our community. The session aimed to educate adolescent girls about menstruation, break the stigma surrounding it, and promote safe and hygienic practices.
The program created a safe space for girls to ask questions, share their experiences, and learn about the importance of using clean sanitary materials, proper disposal methods, and the impact of hygiene on overall health. Educational materials and hygiene kits were also distributed to support their well-being.
By fostering open dialogue and awareness, we strive to ensure that no girl feels ashamed or unprepared during her menstrual cycle. This initiative is a step toward building confidence, dignity, and health for every girl.

Adolescent Development in Penthakata

Adolescence is a critical stage of life, yet many young girls lack awareness of essential aspects such as sanitation, nutrition, self-development, and gender equality. The absence of open discussions on generational and gender issues results in long-term health complications, unsafe motherhood, and social challenges.
With the support of United Way Hyderabad & RSM Global, our initiative focuses on empowering adolescent girls through awareness and skill-building sessions. By integrating the ADVIKA program—a government initiative under the Ministry of Women and Child Development—we educate girls on ten key concepts, fostering their overall growth and self-reliance.
